Radio Waves

First of all we should know what is a radio waves and for what purpose it is used!

                               Download this as doc.

So,

Radio waves
An electromagnetic wave of a frequency between about 104 and 1011 or 1012 Hz, as used for long-distance communication. These are make-up parts of electromagnetic spectrum made by packets of energy of different wavelengths. These waves are similar to visible light waves,X-rays, gamma rays etc.

Transmission of Radio wavesRadio waves have important role in the communication and navigation systems. These are used in wireless computer networks, broadcasting. In our mobiles and laptops, WiFi Bluetooth GPS are used.

Hazards

As for our cellular networks, many towers are installed for this purpose. But obviously this is half-good.

Radio waves disrupt birds’ migratory patterns

According to the a team of German scientists(Nature Reports) captive robins can't migrate properly because they can't align them in the direction they wanted to migrate. These birds use Earths magnetic field to lead them to their perspective destinations.according to them that might have something to do with Electromagnetic waves. They did an experiment by producing these waves after coating them by aluminium so that no waves pass through them. By this, robins had restored its abilities. After determining the waves frequencies they came to know that this was occurred between 50 kilohertz to 5 megahertz which is the range of AM Radio stations and some small electronic devices.

Also Europe's migratory bird populations are declining. While most of that is attributed to habitat destruction, it is possible that electromagnetic noise is playing a role. It can't be helping.
